Description
Gabriel Knight, who used to run a book store in New Orleans and now lives as a Schattenjager (German for "shadow hunter") in a castle in Bavaria, travels to the sleepy hamlet of Rennes-le-Chateau in the third installment of this series. Rennes-le-Chateau is located in the south of France. Gabriel and his assistant Grace Nakimura look into the kidnapping of a newborn. The child in question is the son of Prince James of Albany, and the trail of evidence points to Rennes-le-Chateau as the likely location of the child's abduction. Gabriel and Grace become involved in a mystery that has a religious background and dates back to the very beginnings of Christianity while they are exploring the town and its surroundings and getting to know the unusual history of the place. They come to the realization that supernatural beings are pulling the strings behind the stage while they are doing so, and this leads them to become involved in the mystery.
The video game Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Holy, Blood of the Damned is an adventure game that is played in three dimensions. The user controls Gabriel or Grace as they move through completely 3D scenes, which may be viewed and explored from a first-person perspective by utilizing the "camera" option in the game. The player can choose to play as either Gabriel or Grace. The player communicates with other characters and things in the world by clicking on them and then choosing an appropriate response from a menu of options. The game features a wide variety of puzzles, including the more common inventory-based ones, detective investigations, and challenging riddles that are predicated on the player's familiarity with and comprehension of the game's backstory and narrative.
