Haou Taikei Ryuu Knight - Lord of Paladin

Description

The anime series of the same name inspired the creation of the video game Ryu Knight. The plot of the game is straightforward: you play the role of Adyu, a young knight in training who spends all of his time practising. One day, a mysterious old man materialises out of nowhere, walks up to Adyu, and tells him that the world requires more paladins, and that as a result, you need to put in more effort into your training in order to become one. He sends you on a mission to find a legendary weapon that has been disassembled into twelve parts and hidden in twelve different locations around the world. In addition to this, he bestows upon you the power of Ryu, a massive piece of magical armour that, when worn by a hero, bestows upon them an incredible amount of strength. This is the starting point for Adyu's journey!

The game is an action role-playing game (RPG), and it is somewhat comparable to the Ys series. As Adyu travels throughout the world, he engages his foes in close-quarters combat in real time by wielding melee weapons. He also has the ability to jump to avoid being attacked by enemies. You level up as you defeat more difficult enemies and gain experience points as a result. You have the ability to call forth the armour Ryu at any time, which grants you a significant increase in strength; however, while in Ryu form, you are unable to navigate through tight corridors or ascend stairs. The majority of the game takes place in open areas that are patrolled by foes, with some towns thrown in here and there. The progression of the game is non-linear, meaning that you can travel to almost any part of the map at any point in time.
