Description

During World War II, the player assumes control of a four-man British Special Air Service (SAS) team that is tasked with carrying out a variety of crucial missions. The player can choose their soldiers before beginning each mission in this game. Players also have access to a comprehensive load-out phase, during which they can select from a wide array of weapons and pieces of equipment. Mission briefings include an overview of the objectives, as well as intelligence on the capabilities of the adversary and recommended plans of advance. During missions, players have the ability to command directly by toggling between the men in their squad, issuing vocal instructions, or using a tactical map. The tactical map enables players to exercise real-time control or pre-planned actions once it is exited. Some of the missions include sabotage, search and destroy, rescuing prisoners of war, and providing aid to the resistance. Italy, Yugoslavia, Germany, Norway, the North Sea, and Czechoslovakia are among the locations where you can complete objectives in this game. The game maintains a degree of historical accuracy and an intense atmosphere, including realistic wounding as squad members can be severely wounded or killed by even brief contact with enemy forces. This is despite the fact that certain historical liberties have been taken with actual SAS missions and time-lines.
