Team Apache

Description
The attack helicopter flying simulator known as Team Apache was created by Simis and is currently owned and distributed by Mindscape Group. The primary focus of the game is on taking command of a squadron of six Apache attack helicopters belonging to the United States Army as they engage in combat against the communist FARC insurgents in Colombia and the Russian forces in Latvia.
The original concept for Team Apache came from Simis, who worked at Eidos Interactive. After Jonathan Newth and Ian Baverstock, the two principal developers of Simis, bought the company back from Eidos, they once again became an independent development team, and Mindscape bought the publishing rights to the game.
Team Apache is more concerned with the realism of the gameplay, particularly the components of command, tactics, and the battlefield, as opposed to the realism of flight and the modeling of armament systems. The player is responsible for managing the morale of the unit, as well as its supply and upkeep, and the strategic planning that occurs before each mission. Both the game's manual and the "daily" newspaper convey, with a concentration on accuracy, the geopolitical causes of Team Apache's wars. This was done in order to make the game as realistic as possible. The tactical situation is depicted through the use of detailed military-style SITREPs, and players can observe ground forces engaging in combat with one another across the theater in a manner that is fairly realistic in terms of their deployments and movements.
The gameplay of Team Apache includes a number of different modes, including a multiplayer mode and an application for creating missions.
