Granhistoria - Genshi Sekaiki

Description

You are a young man named Toru, and you are about to wed Lu, the woman you have been in love with for a very long time. Your wedding is going to go off without a hitch because the priest of the god Za, whom the people in your village worship, is getting ready to preside over the proceedings. You are taking a stroll outside in the evening when you come across something that is shiny and odd-looking. Almost immediately after that, thieves attack you, and you are... taken your life? Your spirit makes contact with a mysterious World Sphere, which then brings you back to life. On the other hand, you are transported back in time a few hours before the robbers attacked the village and you personally, right before the attack. You have to stop the attack from happening in order to break a chain of events and alter the course of world history! As you make your way into the robbers' lair in order to learn more about their schemes, you become embroiled in a conflict between the king's generals and the leader of the robbers, and you quickly come to the conclusion that you must have played a very significant part in the course of world history...

The core idea behind Granhistoria is that players can alter the course of history, and this ties into the game's gameplay. Through the use of the menu, you are able to access information about the most recent happenings in the history of the world at any time. The decisions you make during the game will have an effect on how those events play out. You have the ability to pick which faction to align yourself with, and by doing so, steer history in a variety of directions.

The game features a turn-based style of combat, and the enemies that you face are chosen at random. You are under attack from multiple directions, including from above, and you will frequently have to fight on multiple fronts at the same time.
