Dungeon Master

Description

The player of the role-playing game Dungeon Master chooses four different heroes to accompany them on their journey into the bowels of the dungeon. The gameplay is very reminiscent of the 3D dungeon crawl style of role-playing games that became popularised by games like Wizardry and The Bard's Tale. On the other hand, in contrast to these other games, Dungeon Master features real-time combat, which requires the player to click on their opponent in order to carry out an attack. The game is notable for a number of reasons, one of which is its progression system. Instead of gaining experience points and levelling up, players can make their characters stronger by repeatedly performing the same action. In order to cast a spell, one must choose and combine various symbols, which can then be reorganised into runic sequences. Using a point-and-click interface, the game also gives the player the opportunity to directly interact with various elements that are a part of the game world.
