Dark Half

Description

Both the Light and the Darkness had to come first before the Light could emerge from the Darkness. In the beginning, they could not be separated from one another, and they even gave birth to one another. Before any of the other creatures had even materialised, the great demon of darkness that would come to be known as Satan was revealed to be Rukyu. The divine hero-god Roda travelled to his dark realm in an attempt to vanquish him, but he was defeated there and is now thought to be dead. But it wasn't going to be that easy for the hero to perish; he made a solemn vow to vanquish Rukyu for good. In the meantime, Rukyu does not simply remain in his realm while waiting for Roda; rather, he ventures out into the world as a sorcerer who brings death, and he is searching for Roda...

Because you can take on the role of either the "good" hero or the villain, this role-playing game is quite distinct from the vast majority of other RPGs. The game is broken up into chapters, and Roda or Rukyu take turns playing each chapter, depending on which chapter it is. You swap places with the two protagonists from chapter to chapter, and you guide them through to the climactic conflict from opposing viewpoints. Isometric views are utilised throughout the entirety of the game, including the combat sequences. The battles are turn-based and random, and the field of combat is divided into squares on which you can position and move your characters. Both Roda and Rukyu primarily use magic in their attacks, and both can have other members of the party join them. A spe is used by Rukyu.
