Lords of the Realm II: Royal Edition

Description

The strategy video game Lords of the Realm II features both real-time and turn-based battles, as well as the control of counties and economies.

The monarch is dead before the game begins, and five nobles—including yourself—are competing for control of the land. These nobles include the honorable Baron, the headstrong Knight, the ice princess The Countess, and the backstabbing Bishop. You need to maintain control of your counties by expanding the size of your castles and ensuring that the peasantry is content and properly nourished.

When you actually start fighting your opponent, that's when the fun really begins. You are presented with a perspective of the battlefield similar to that seen in Warcraft, and the units that make up your army are shown there. You must either convince them to retreat, which is unlikely, or eliminate each and every one of the pesky critters. You can win a siege by either capturing the enemy flag or sending all of your opponent's men to the Great Big Realm in the Sky. Either of these will bring an end to the conflict.
