Description

It is up to Diddy Kong and his girlfriend Dixie Kong to rescue Donkey Kong after he was "kongnapped" by the evil K. Rool and the Kremlings. Diddy Kong is Donkey Kong's son.

All of the recognisable foes and helpful allies make a comeback in this instalment, along with a few new characters, one of which is the sage Wrinkly Kong, who will instruct you on some crucial aspects of the gameplay. Again, the focus is on gathering bananas, despite the fact that one extra life can be earned for every one hundred bananas collected. In addition to vanquishing K. Rool and bringing Donkey Kong back to safety, players have the option of completing a number of optional side quests. It is necessary to acquire a sufficient number of K. Rool Kremkoins in order to unlock the pathways leading to the Lost World, and each level contains a hidden Hero Coin that must be retrieved.

The version for the Game Boy Advance also includes a bonus game mode that consists of three minigames (Expresso's Racing, Funky's Flights, and Bag a Bug), in addition to a mode called Diddy's Dash that is a time attack mode (complete levels as fast as possible as Diddy Kong). In addition, this version of the game features an additional boss known as Kerozene, as well as two more collectibles known as Golden Feathers, which can be used in the Expresso's Racing bonus game to increase Expresso's stats, and photographs, which can be used to fill out a scrapbook. As a result of the inclusion of the bonus games and the scrapbook, an additional 28 Hero Coins have been made available.
