Archer Maclean's Super Dropzone

Description

Dropzone, which was created by Archer MacLean, has a sequel called Super Dropzone: Intergalactic Rescue Mission. The events of this game take place ten years after those of the previous game in the series. In those days, a group of the most accomplished people from all over the world participated in an exploration of Jupiter's moon Io in the hope of discovering rare and valuable minerals. They were under attack from a race of extraterrestrials, and it was up to the player to protect them. They have now been successful in establishing bases on three additional moons of Jupiter, namely Callisto, Ganymede, and Europa. However, the threat posed by the aliens is still very much present, and the player is still responsible for keeping them safe.

Even though it includes some new weapons and boss fights at the end of each level, the gameplay is largely identical to the one found in the original Dropzone. The player assumes control of a spaceman equipped with a jetpack and has the ability to fly in any direction above the surface of the moon while simultaneously eliminating wave after wave of alien foes. While doing so, the player is responsible for ensuring the safety of the ten people who have been tasked with landing on the moon by transporting them to the dropzone landing pad.

The events described in the previous sentence take place not only on Jupiter but also on some of its moons. The player must vanquish a planet guardian in order to proceed to the next level on each moon. The player needs to strike them in the glowing green nerve centre that is occasionally exposed as the enemies move around in order to accomplish this. Each new wave begins with the last remaining humans being beamed up by a boss foe, and in order to free the humans, the boss foe must first be vanquished.
