SimTower: The Vertical Empire

Description

With the launch of SimTower, an innovative product developed in Japan, Maxis is taking their Sim-building product line in a vertical direction (where vertical living is much more commonplace than in many parts of the world).

Your objective is to construct a skyscraper that meets all of the following criteria: it must be tall, it must be visually attractive, it must be popular, and most importantly, it must be economically lucrative. If you want your building to be successful, it can't simply be an apartment high-rise or an indefinite number of levels of office space; rather, it needs to be a multi-functional refuge for humanity that includes everything from penthouses to theaters, restaurants to shopping malls. The elevators in your building are the architectural focal point, thus managing them well is essential.

You are able to observe your Sims as they move through your great tower, whether they are growing irritable while waiting for elevators or are having a hectic day at the office. You could even train in on one or two of them in order to serve as a measuring stick for the rest of their comrades or simply to get a glimpse into the typical working day of the people who live in your building. Or you may watch the security and rescue crews run to the scene as various catastrophes, like as bomb threats and fires, wreak havoc on your carefully constructed building.

There is an additional bonus map included in the PlayStation edition.
