Independence War and its expansion pack, Independence War Defiance, are both included in this title, which is a combination of the two games. The Indies, who are colonists from Earth, and the Commonwealth are now engaged in a major conflict throughout the entirety of Independence War. In addition, you will play the part of an officer serving in the navy of the Commonwealth.

When you play Defiance, you take control of the Independent faction of the fight. The original campaign is replicated in this add-on, which features a total of 18 new missions. You are Captain Edison Hayes, commanding officer of the Dreadnaught-class corvette Spartacus and a member of the Independent navy. The option to save your progress during a mission and some degree of personalization over the player ship's armaments are two of the other noteworthy new additions to the Defiance game.
