Close Combat III: The Russian Front

Description

A computer wargame called Close Combat III: The Russian Front was created by Atomic Games and released by Microsoft in 1999. The third title in the Close Combat series is this one. It follows players from the Soviet Union invasion to the decisive battle for Berlin in 1945, all taking place on the Eastern Front during World War II.

The Close Combat series' standard pattern for battles is followed. There are realism settings that, in addition to a difficulty slider, turn off the fog of war, unit initiative, the difficulty of accessing enemy information, etc.

The Eastern Front is followed by the Grand Campaign from Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of the Soviet Union, to Stalingrad and finally Berlin. Players have a choice of sides.
