Brutal - Paws of Fury

Description

You are competing in a martial arts competition that has been organised by the Dalai Llama for animals of all species to demonstrate their prowess, and he has invited you. There are many different kinds of furry creatures to fight, and in the end, the Dalai Llama himself must be defeated.

Paws of Fury is a one-on-one fighting game that takes place across a variety of levels, the majority of which are set in outdoor environments. You get to pick from among the many available characters. Your character will engage in a number of battles as they make their way across Dalai Llama's island throughout the course of the game before reaching the climactic confrontation.

You can punch and kick your opponent during a duel, try to use special attacks on them, or use a "taunt" that will restore some of your health. All of these options are available to you. Each fight goes on for a set amount of rounds (the number of which can be changed via the options menu), and the victor of a match is determined by the number of times a single combatant has prevailed over the course of the fight. If the computer-controlled player wins, the game is over (although you can still use a continue to start the fight over again), but if you win, you move on to the next opponent. If the computer-controlled player loses, the game is over. After you have vanquished them, you will be able to view an ending animation. This animation will be unique to the character that you have selected.

You can choose to engage in a single duel, in which you choose both your opponent and the environment, rather than starting a whole new game. You have the option of facing off against an opponent controlled by the game's software or another human player.

The blood and gore of Mortal Kombat and the heavy metal of Rise of the Robots are contrasted by the visually appealing tendency toward cutesiness in this game.

In the console versions of the game, you begin play without any special moves, but you are rewarded with a new one after every successful best-of-three match. However, this feature is not included in the computer versions.
