Cybernator

Description
In a dystopian future where fossil fuels are in short supply, the major nations of the world and their armed forces are at war with each other over territorial claims. As a result of the formation of various alliances, there emerge two primary camps: the Axis and the Federation. Assault Suits, which are man-piloted combat mechs, have emerged as the most powerful fighting units in these conflicts. Jake is one of these pilots who was conscripted into the Marine Corps of the Pacific States to serve under the Federation. While he was in training, the war had already grown to a significant extent; consequently, as soon as he was assigned to a platoon, he was immediately thrust into combat.
Cybernator is a combination of a platform game and a side scrolling mech combat game. The player assumes control of Jake as he navigates the battlefield in his assault suit by moving left and right. The assault suit has the ability to jump and, for a brief period of time, use a jetpack to increase its altitude. The assault suit comes equipped with a Shot machine gun weapon that can spread fire in front of the user, as well as a Punch weapon that can be used for close-quarters combat. Throughout the course of the game, players have the opportunity to discover new weapons and improve their existing arsenals by collecting "P" power-ups, which are dropped by defeated enemies.
There are a variety of foes in each level, as well as a boss at the end of the level, which needs to be vanquished before moving on. Some of the levels are played out like horizontally scrolling shooters, in which the Assault suit can move in any direction on the screen (up, down, left, or right), but is always moving closer to new enemies.
The game that was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is not emulated in its entirety on the PlayStation 2 version. It has different visuals, some tweaks to the game's balance, and a new stage right at the beginning of the experience.
