Ogre Battle - The March of the Black Queen

Description

Approximately 25 years ago, Empress Endora was successful in her conquest of the entirety of the continent of Zetegenia. People of all different social classes and positions started hoping for a better future as a result of her tyrannical rule, which turned out to be the case. In due time, a group of rebels who called themselves the Liberation Army came into existence. The player decides on the protagonist's name and backstory before the game, at which point the character assumes command of the newly formed army and directs his allies toward starting a revolution.

Both real-time strategy and tactical role-playing game elements can be found in Ogre Battle. The player is in charge of commanding a massive army that is made up of characters that belong to a wide variety of different classes. These classes range from military specialisations to mythological creatures and include things like dragons, angels, hellhounds, undead trees, and other such things. Each class has its own set of abilities and characteristics that are distinct from the others. Vampires and werewolves, for instance, are only usable in combat situations that take place during the night.

On the strategic map, the player directs the movement of troops in real time. The combat between individual units is handled in a turn-based role-playing game fashion. The player has the ability to choose overarching commands for the fight, as well as make use of potent tarot cards to perform specialised moves. Throughout the course of the game, a character's level increases, they can switch classes, and they gain increased strength. In addition, the player can buy items in the towns they visit.

The choices the player makes throughout the storyline will have an effect on the reputation of the protagonist. The player has the ability to make decisions that could end up being well received or poorly received by the nation that is in communication with the Liberation Army. In addition, each character possesses their own alignment, which can range from good to evil depending on the circumstances. It's possible that the army's reputation will suffer if they liberate towns inhabited by evil characters.
