Front Mission Series - Gun Hazard

Description
It is the year 2064 when the groundbreaking development of fusion power casts a shadow over the great solar power satellite known as ATLAS. As a result of the shift in the power dynamic, the government alliance that had previously supported the construction of ATLAS now finds itself in the midst of an economic crisis. In this world of conflict and change, the Walking Panzer, also known as a Wanzer (which is a type of mecha), becomes the standard armoured unit for wars and other forms of conflict all over the world. Colonel Ark is currently in the process of carrying out a coup d'etat in the relatively unimportant nation of Bergen. Ark's first step in achieving his goal of establishing full control over both the government and the NORAD units stationed there is to kidnap President Orwen. Orwen, having been informed of the uprising, makes plans to leave Bergen in search of a secure exit from the city of Port Ertothal, which is located on the coast. Albert Grabner, a young Wanzer pilot, is given the responsibility of providing protection for the president by obedient elements of the army stationed there...
A spin-off of the Front Mission series, Gun Hazard is a shooter with strong role-playing game elements that uses a side-scrolling perspective. The gameplay has more than just a passing resemblance to that of Cybernator or Metal Warriors. On an overarching area map, the player navigates between various stages. After entering a stage, the player takes control of Albert and his wanzer and guides it across the screen in a left-to-right motion. The Wanzer has the ability to leap, and it possesses both a primary and a secondary weapon for combat. Albert has the ability to exit his heavily armed wanzer at any point during a stage so that he can go on an adventure. Albert is able to reach areas that the wanzer cannot, in addition to being a smaller target and having the ability to jetpack indefinitely, despite the fact that Albert is vulnerable when he is outside.
Earning money and experience can be done by completing the objectives of a mission, as well as by increasing the number of hostile wanzers that you kill. In addition, during the course of the normal events of the story, Albert will have the opportunity to recruit additional characters, some of whom will be assigned supporting roles. During the course of his missions, Albert can benefit from a wide variety of cover fire abilities when these support characters are configured properly. They, too, advance in levels and accumulate experience. It is possible to find or purchase a variety of weapons and armour. Both the Booster ability, which enables the wanzer to hover and increase the height of its jumps, and the Dash ability, which enables the wanzer to move quickly in both directions left and right, are essential components.
