On January 17, 1993, Microsoft introduced version 4.0 of their office suite, which was called Microsoft Office 4.0. This package comes with Microsoft Word 6.0, Microsoft Excel 4.0a, Microsoft PowerPoint 3.0, Microsoft Mail 3.1, and Microsoft Office Manager. Customers who bought this version were given a coupon that could be redeemed for a free upgrade to the following version of Excel or PowerPoint when it became available.
