Demolition Man

Description
The film that was released in 1993 under the same name was the inspiration for the video game called Demolition Man. The video game takes place in a dystopian version of Los Angeles in the year 1996, just like the movie did. John Spartan, the most dangerous police officer in the country, is on the trail of his archenemy, Simon Phoenix. However, in the process of doing so, he ends up killing several innocent civilians, and both of the characters end up being sentenced to cryogenic rehabilitation, during which they will be subjected to extensive brainwashing for a period of thirty years. However, the brainwashing does not go according to plan, and after Phoenix wakes up, he immediately begins a new spree of criminal activity. Nevertheless, in the past thirty years, not only has Los Angeles changed its name to San Angeles, but the society there is now utopian and there is no longer any violence. John Spartan, a police officer, is once again tasked with capturing Phoenix because of his history of involvement in more violent incidents.
The platforming game Demolition Man has a frenetic pace, and some of the levels are played from an overhead perspective (similar to Smash TV). The majority of the time spent in the role of John Spartan will be spent fending off waves upon waves of "cryocons" that have been unleashed upon the sterile world of the future. Upgrades to the standard weapon include a shotgun and a magnum, both of which have a finite magazine capacity. In addition, players have the opportunity to collect grenades of a variety of types, each of which can be launched independently of the player's primary weapon. At the conclusion of each and every level that has a direct bearing on the movie, Simon Phoenix makes an appearance as a boss character.
The story is advanced and new levels are introduced in the Sega CD version of the game, which otherwise is identical to its predecessor in terms of both the levels it contains and the gameplay it offers.
