NHL 99 was the following installment in EA Sports' popular hockey simulation series and was first made available for the PlayStation in the year 1998. The game gave players the ability to feel as though they were a part of a real professional ice hockey league, complete with real teams, real players, and real atmosphere.

Players were able to quickly identify individual players, on-ice moves, and stadiums because to the game's graphics, which were impressive for the time they were made. Although it might look dated in comparison to today's standards, it was really a major increase in terms of visual quality when compared to earlier iterations of the series when it was first released.
