Roberta Williams' King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride

Description

Queen Valanice of Daventry's advice to her daughter Rosella has always been to find a suitable husband and start a family. She has never considered any other option. The little princess, on the other hand, seems to be more interested in having exciting adventures, as evidenced by the fact that she impulsively followed a mystery magical creature into a whirlpool that eventually transported both her and her mother to another realm. Rosella is changed into a troll, and the two of them eventually find themselves in various regions of the region known as Eldritch. They have to track each other down and ultimately vanquish a wicked sorceress who is hatching a scheme to destroy the land.

King's Quest VII is an adventure game that, much like its predecessors, focuses heavily on the resolution of puzzles involving inventory items. It does away with the icon-based interface that was used in the previous two chapters in the series and replaces it with a simplified "smart cursor" that is used for general interaction with objects and characters that are highlighted, in addition to having substantially fewer text descriptions. Each chapter of the game features a different protagonist, switching between the queen and the princess at regular intervals. It features brilliantly colored images that are reminiscent of Walt Disney cartoons, in contrast to the realistic drawing style that was used in all of the games that came before it.
