Extreme-G

Description

Extreme-G was released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 console and brought with it a new level of speed and action for racing game fans. From the first moments of play, it is clear that this is a perfectly thought out and addictive title.

One of the biggest draws of this racing simulator is undoubtedly its graphics. The game features stunning environments full of bright colours, smoothly moving textures and other little touches that perfectly illustrate the speed and adrenaline of the races. What's more, the Nintendo 64 console is used to its maximum potential, which is reflected not only in the high resolution, but also in the vivid and detailed model circuits.

With the variety of tracks and machines, the game certainly can't complain. Each track is unique and offers specific challenges for the player. For example, some tracks feature the ability to change the time of day, which adds not only visual variety to the race, but also new elements of strategy. The wide variety of available cars and their upgrades also adds to the overall variation, giving players the opportunity to create their own tactics for racing.

The races themselves are fast, intense and full of unexpected twists and turns. There's also adrenaline-pumping jumps and looping that perfectly complement the sense of speed and action. In addition to the standard race, the game also offers modes such as time trial or battle mode, where players can test their skills in a variety of challenges.

Something that the game can probably be faulted by fans of racing games is the controls. While this is intuitive and easy to learn, there are times when the automatic speed pick-up can interfere with the precision of maneuvering. This can be frustrating at first, but after a while players learn to adapt to their play style and, worst case scenario, they can change the controls in the in-game menu at any time.

Overall, Extreme-G has brought the racing action that racing game fans have been craving to the Nintendo 64 console. Great graphics, diverse tracks, and action-packed gameplay have made this game a cult title that is still entertaining more than twenty years after its release. If you are a fan of racing games, you should definitely not miss this title!
