The Beast Within is not an interactive movie despite its visual aesthetic; rather, it is a full-fledged adventure game with many dialogue options, detective work to do, and mysteries to unravel. In contrast to the earlier game, this one is navigated only through the use of point-and-click mechanics; all of the game's icons have been swapped out for a single cursor. At various points in the narrative, players will have the opportunity to take control of Gabriel and Grace, two of the playable characters.
