Heimdall 2: Into the Hall of Worlds
Description
Heimdall 2: Into the Hall of Worlds was released for DOS in 1994 as a sequel to the successful first game. As an experienced editor of computer and console games, I had the opportunity to try this game and I must say that I was very surprised by it.
First of all, I would like to mention the graphics, which are very impressive in this game. When looking at the game world, the player immediately feels the atmosphere of fantasy and mythology that is characteristic of this game. There is no doubt that the graphic design was very good for the time of its release, and even today one could say that it is at a very good level.
As far as the game system is concerned, it is a mix of RPG, shooter and adventure game. The player takes on the role of the warrior Heimdall, who is tasked with saving a world called Midgard that is threatened by dark forces. The game is divided into chapters, with each chapter representing a new world that the player must explore and complete various quests. The game offers a large variety of weapons, magical and combat abilities, which greatly enriches the gameplay experience.
One of the most interesting features of the game is the world exploration system. The player must discover new locations, complete puzzles and fight enemies. During the game he can also recruit additional characters to his team, which brings additional strategic options. Overall, the game has great gameplay depth and is full of different adventures.
The music and sound effects in this game are also very well done. The music perfectly supports the atmosphere and the sound effects add another dimension to the action on screen.
The only negative of this game may be the difficulty. Some of the tasks are very challenging and require excellent strategic and combat skills from the player. It also sometimes happens that the player loses track of what to do in the game and has to rely on hints and advice from friends.
All in all, Heimdall 2: Into the Hall of Worlds is a great sequel to the first game. It offers an engaging story, a great variety of characters, weapons and magical abilities, impressive graphics and music. You just need to watch out for the difficulty, but if you're looking for a challenge, this game is definitely for you. I recommend it to all fans of RPGs and adventure games.
