Leisure Suit Larry 5: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work

Description
Despite the number, Leisure Suit Larry: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work! is the fourth game in Al Lowe's series of Leisure Suit Larry games. Larry Laffer, a middle-aged want tobe womanizer, suffered amnesia after falling off a boat while on a cruise. He forgot how he and his longtime sweetheart Patti got separated, how Larry got a job in Los Angeles, how Patti got a job with the FBI, and what happened in (the never released) Larry 4. Larry Laffer fell off a boat while on a cruise. Now that the heroes are aware of the connection between the two cases, Larry and Patti are working independently on the cases, but the heroes are unaware of the connection between the cases. Patti is willing to take a hiatus from her profession as a playing pianist in order to work as an undercover agent, while Larry's new superiors are involved in shady dealings in the business world. When do you see these two back together again?
In contrast to the previous games, Larry 5 features a graphical user interface that is driven by icons rather than text input. The player interacts with their surroundings through the use of verb commands such as "Look," "Talk," "Use," and so on. In a manner that is not exactly usual for Sierra's adventure games, it is not possible to "die" in Larry 5, and the number of "dead ends" (situations in which the player cannot succeed) has been substantially decreased. The focus of the game is less on solving puzzles, therefore the player can move on even if they are unable to complete a puzzle when it is essential to do so in some instances. On the other hand, the player receives a greater number of points for discovering the "correct" answer. Both Larry and Patti are available to control as playable characters throughout the various chapters of the tale, just as they were in the third game.
