Ghost Chaser Densei

Description

The plot of Ghost Chaser Densei or Denjinmakai does not deviate significantly from the formula of a typical scrolling brawler in any significant way. There is a terrorist group that needs to be stopped from taking over a city twenty minutes into the future, and in the path that leads to salvation there is a long, straight line full of goons who need to be punched. The story won't try to get in the way of the beat-downs, other than when you get orders from your boss at the beginning of each level and when you have brief conversations with bosses and rare non-player characters.

In the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of the game, there are three playable characters: the martial artist Makai, the cat-girl Iyo who wields a mace, and the autonomous robot Belva. The arcade version adds three new playable characters, including a wrestler named Tarukusu, a beastman named Zelda, and a character with purple hair named Kurokishi. Additionally, the arcade version includes an additional stage called High way. Each character possesses a set of unique moves in addition to the fundamental capabilities of attacking, jumping, blocking, and throwing, as well as the ability to use a special move by pressing the attack and jump buttons simultaneously. In contrast to the majority of brawlers, these special moves only deplete a special bar that can be recharged, and not your health. Iyo can triangle jump and perform a spinning piledriver, Makai can throw fireballs and do a flying kick in midair, and Belva can double jump and perform a grapple special. Makai can perform a grapple special and throw fireballs. In the event that two players are competing against one another, each character also possesses a team-based special ability. There are a wide variety of enemies, such as armoured soldiers, lizard men, and robots; however, the majority of them can be categorised into the same hierarchy. Weaker types of enemies will rush at you, while stronger types will shoot projectiles then rush at you. At the end of each level is a one-of-a-kind boss with a variety of close and long-range attacks.
