Fields of Glory

Description

Fields of Glory is a computer game for Amiga created in 1994. This strategy game takes you to the setting of Ancient Rome, where you have to use your tactical skills and strategic planning to become the ruler of an empire.

The game begins by first creating your own character to be your representative in Rome. You can choose from six different professions, ranging from a common soldier to a high-ranking officer. Each profession has its advantages and disadvantages, of course, so it's important to consider carefully which direction you want to take.

After you create your character, you will find yourself in the capital city of Rome, where all the important events and decisions are made. Your goal will be to gain as much influence as possible in Roman society and eventually become the emperor himself.

One of the most interesting things about this game is that you have the choice of focusing on politics and manipulating the Senate, or focusing on military victories and conquering new territories. Whichever approach you choose, you'll have to constantly think about what actions have been in the past and what consequences they may have in the game.

The graphics of the game are very decent for its time and offer nice animations and details. The music is in keeping with the theme and adds to the atmosphere of ancient Rome.

The combat system is also interesting and gives the player the option to decide whether to try to separate and weaken the enemy units or attack them directly to the main leader. This flexibility forces you to think through strategies and be prepared for all eventualities.

The only drawback of this game is its difficulty. The game is very challenging and can be frustrating for new players. However, if you are not afraid of challenges, this game will provide you with many hours of fun and challenge.

Overall, Fields of Glory is a challenging but very well made game. It offers an engaging story, fun and strategic gameplay, and an enjoyable atmosphere. If you like ancient history and strategy games, you should definitely not miss this game.
