Full Throttle
Description
Hovercrafts, which were made possible by future technology, started to gradually displace automobiles and other types of mechanized transport. Ben is the head of the Polecats, which is widely considered to be among the most dangerous motorbike gangs on the road. One day, he accidentally runs over and destroys a hovercraft limousine that belongs to Malcolm Corley, the proprietor of Corley Motors, which is the only indigenous motorbike manufacturer. Once some time has passed, Corley stops by the Kick Stand Bar where Ben is having some good, clean fun when he does so in order to engage in some reminiscing. This results in a discussion with Adrian Ripburger, vice president of Corley Motors, who has his own nefarious ideas about the company, the Polecats, and the future of motorized vehicles. Ben's refusal to cooperate has led to him being forced to deal with the fallout and do everything in his power to see that Ripburger is brought to justice.
Full Throttle is an adventure game played from the third-person perspective that focuses on puzzle-solving. The graphics are done in a cartoon-like style, similar to those found in LucasArts' past adventure games such as Sam & Max Hit the Road and Day of the Tentacle. The user interface of the game has been updated, and now the player only needs to move their character's cursor in the direction of an object in order for the possible action icons to show. Previously, the player had to select a command verb or an action icon before interacting with an object. In addition to the more common "use," "examine," and "talk" actions, these incorporate a separate foot icon for kicking.
Throughout the majority of discussions, the player has a variety of options from which to choose, just as in other adventure games developed by LucasArts. Full Throttle is a more simplified experience when compared to the developer's earlier works in the same genre. There is less room for exploration, fewer dialogue options, and fewer puzzles. The story is advanced through the use of cutscenes that are animated in a cinematic way. In addition, the game features a few straightforward action driving segments in which the player must steer a motorcycle while fighting off enemy bikers with punches, kicks, and rudimentary weapons like chains and planks. These sequences are part of the game's driving component.
