Front Mission

Description
In the not too distant future, large mech robots known as Wanzers (Walking Panzers) are utilised for combat by the majority of the world's armed forces. Wanzers have been stationed on Huffman Island, which is found in the Pacific Ocean. This is because the United States of the New Continent (USN) and the Oceana Community Union (OCU) are at odds with one another regarding ownership of the island. One night, the OCU forces carry out a covert reconnaissance mission on a facility that is situated in Larcus, which is territory that is held by the USN and is home to a weapons facility. This mission was completely unauthorised and carried out in defiance of the peace treaty. The soldier in charge of it was named Roid. During the course of the mission, forces from the United States Navy led by Commander Driscoll appeared and ambushed the soldiers from the Other Combat Unit. During the battle, Roid's fiancee Karen was killed, and the USN facility was destroyed by an explosion; the OCU was held responsible for both of these events. This was later dubbed the "Larcus Incident," and the OCU categorically denied any and all knowledge of the actions taken by its soldiers. In the end, it would turn out to be a major contributing factor in the second Huffman War.
After one year, the war has begun, and the OCU has provisional control of Huffman island. However, the island's military has been depleted to the point where it is unable to defend itself against USN attacks. All of the soldiers who were involved in the Larcus Incident have been dishonourably discharged from the military. After Roid has spent his time competing as a gladiator in the Wanzer fighting arena, an unknown individual approaches him. After learning about Roid's past, Colonel Olson has decided that he wants Roid to take command of a mercenary unit that he is putting together on behalf of the OCU and calling "Carrion Crow." Roid gives in after being persuaded that there is still a chance that Driscoll is somewhere on the island.
Front The role-playing game Mission is a tactical role-playing game played from an isometric perspective. Players advance through the narrative by participating in large-scale, strategic battles that involve multiple units and cutscenes between those units. The player has the ability to go to multiple locations, such as bars and shops, and talk to people when they are in certain locations, which are typically towns. Additionally, shops can be discovered where one can purchase new weaponry and parts as well as make repairs. When engaged in combat, each Wanzer robot functions as a separate unit and, depending on its loadout, can utilise a wide range of different weapons and combat strategies. Experience points are awarded to units not only for vanquishing foes but also for employing a variety of different strategies. When an attack is used more frequently, its strength increases over time.
