Soldier of Fortune

Description

A terrorist organization has successfully stolen nuclear weapons from a plant in Russia, with the intention of selling them to a number of countries in the developing world in order to start a war on a global scale. The player assumes the role of John Mullins, a mercenary from the United States who works for a company known simply as "The Shop." The objective is uncomplicated: track out the bad guys all over the world, foil their schemes, and save the world from destruction!

Exploring the surroundings and eliminating the foes who stand in the way of the player's progression is the primary focus of Soldier of Fortune, much like it is in the majority of other 3D shooters. It is one of the first shooters to be able to specifically target over 20 distinct parts of the body and show or inflict damage on those parts. If the player character shoots an adversary in the foot, for instance, the enemy will limp for a while after the attack. The game was unique for a number of reasons, including the inclusion of realistic gore animations that were the result of injuries received by the antagonists.
