The 11th Hour
Description
The 7th Guest was a hugely popular game, and its subsequent installment, The 11th Hour, is the sequel to that game. It makes use of a significantly enhanced video compression engine that was developed by Graeme Devine, and it is also the game that was ultimately responsible for Trilobyte's collapse.
This time around, you take on the part of Carl Denning, the boyfriend of the reporter Robin Morales, and the role is yours to perform. When delving deeper into the mysteries of the crumbling mansion where the once-evil mastermind Henry Stauf had resided, Robin inexplicably disappeared without a trace.
The game has brand new puzzles, completely redesigned graphics, and an entirely new music. Moreover, the engine has been upgraded to run much more smoothly and contains 16 bit graphics. The gameplay is fundamentally identical to that of its predecessor, in which the player navigates the mansion by walking through it, watching FMV sequences, and completing logical puzzles. In order to obtain hints for the puzzles, the so-called GameBook, which is a laptop, can be accessed.
