Gourmet Warriors

Description

The player has the option of choosing between three different characters in Gourmet Sentai: Bara Yarou: Bonjour, Mademoiselle, and Très Bien. Punching, throwing, and jumping are standard fare for side-scrolling brawlers, but each character in this game also has slightly unique movesets that can be used on opponents that are already knocked down or stunned. Before facing a more formidable boss at the end of each level, the characters must first overcome a number of weaker foes on that level. When an enemy is vanquished, it will leave behind a cooking ingredient, and at the end of each level, the player will have the opportunity to combine two of these ingredients to make a meal that, depending on whether or not the player's character enjoyed the meal, will restore some of their health. The settings range from slums and palaces to high-speed trains and space ships, but there is not much continuity from one location to the next in general.
