The many items scattered around the world can overwhelm the player and distract from the main storyline. In addition, the sometimes illogical placement of key items can lead players on lengthy and frustrating quests.

Despite these minor flaws, Donkey Kong 64 remains a gem in the kingdom of Nintendo 64 games. It's a game that combines technical mastery, creativity and immense fun into one memorable package.
